Calvary Church Leadership

We are blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev. Dan and Dr. Debbie Burgess

Lead Pastors

Pastor Dan holds a Master of Theology Degree from Destiny Christian University, Winter Haven, Florida, and a Bachelor of Accountancy and Business Administration from Walsh Business College in Troy, MI.  Pastor Dan is a coffee connoisseur. His hobbies include golf, hunting, and fishing. He owns and operates Builders Custom Flooring in Downtown Lake Orion, MI. Pastor Debbie holds an earned Doctorate in Ministry and a Master of Theology from Destiny Christian University, Winter Haven, Florida, a Bachelor in Business Administration from Baker College, and an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Oakland Community College. Pastor Debbie received the call of God on her life while being carried in her mother's womb. She teaches, preaches, and ministers in the prophetic. Pastors Dan and Debbie believe God has called them to continue the spiritual legacy of their family.  A spiritual awakening is taking place in our great Nation, and it's bringing transformation. Pastors Dan and Debbie have three grown children and four beautiful grandchildren.  In their spare time, they love to hang out with family and friends, travel, taste coffees from around the world, and enjoy Burgess camp.

Rev. Leland & Dr. Yvonne Matlock

Advisory Pastors

Rev. Leland and Dr. Yvonne Matlock serve as Advisory Pastors after serving thirty-four years of ministry as senior pastors of Calvary Missionary Church. In 1956 they became members of CMC located at 306 Midway in Pontiac.  God has given Pastor Lee a deep love and compassion for the city of Pontiac.  He stands in faith believing in the unity of the community and a mighty move of God's Spirit which will bring spiritual transformation. Pastor Matlock is known for organizing the March for Jesus in the late eighties until 2002, and the National Day of Prayer for the city of Pontiac.  Since 1975, the Matlock's have continued to minister at the Oakland County Jail and the American House.  They both serve as chaplains for the Oakland County Sheriff Department.  Pastor Lee was awarded the Distinguished Americanism Award.  Dr. Yvonne is the Dean of Destiny School of Ministry, Pontiac Campus, celebrating 14 years of school. Dr. Yvonne graduated from Covington Theological Seminary. They have 3 beautiful daughters, 3 wonderful sons-in-law, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
